You can map skills to online catalog items by using search terms so that when users select a catalog item with a search term in its name or path, the appropriate skill can be assigned to it “on the fly”. For example, if you map the “transmission” search term to the ‘Master Mechanic’ skill then when users select a catalog item that contains the word “transmission” (or any of its parent levels contains the word “transmission), the service will be automatically assigned to the ‘Master Mechanic’ skill and go to the appropriate repair order phase if mapped accordingly.

Important!

The 'MOTOR car specific catalogs' and 'Labor Skills' features must be turned on for your Back Office application.

Also, please make sure that your user role has the appropriate permissions for the 'Online Labor Skills Mapping' resource on the 'Back Office' tab.

To map skills to search terms:

In the main menu

  • Click ‘Online Catalog Mappings’ in the ‘Settings’ menu group

On the ‘Online Catalogs Mapping’ page

  • Select an online catalog

  • Click the ‘Add New Mapping’ button

In the ‘Mapping’ popup

  • Enter the search term, specify if the search term must be searched in a part category or in the part name, select a skill, and then click ‘Save’

Note The new mapping will appear in the bottom of the mappings list

Important! When matching a search term with the name of selected catalog item, the algorithm goes from the top to the bottom of the mappings list and use the first found match, for example, if position (i.e. priority) of the “Transmission Fluid” search term is higher than the priority of “Transmission” search term, then the catalog item that has words ‘Transmission’ and ‘Fluid’ in its path must be assigned to the skill mapped to the “Transmission Fluid” search term.

To change the priority of a mapping

  • Drag and drop the mapping to the appropriate position

To edit an existing mapping

  • Click the ‘Edit’ button next to the appropriate mapping

  • Make changes that you want and then click ‘Save’

To remove an existing mapping

  • Click the ‘Delete’ button next to the appropriate mapping

  • Click ‘Confirm’ in the confirmation message

For example, if you mapped the 'Bumper' search term found in the part name to the 'PDR' skill, when you add a repair order service assigned to the appropriate online catalog and select a catalog item with the word 'Bumper' in the name of the part, the 'PDR' skill will be automatically pre-selected.
