With tags, you can control what service contracts will be created automatically when new vehicles that require service contracts of different types are added to the same inventory.
For example, a vehicle inventory has vehicles of different makes and/or models, and the oil change of some models should occur every 5000 miles, while the oil change of other models should occur every 7000 miles.
1. Create a service contract type for changing oil every 5000 miles and another service contract type for changing oil every 7000 miles.
2. Create and assign the ‘Oil5000’ tag to the ‘Oil Change 5000’ service contract type.
3. Create and assign the ‘Oil7000’ tag to the ‘Oil Change 7000’ service contract type.
4. Make sure that service contract types with tags are assigned to the appropriate vehicle inventory.
Now, when you add a new vehicle with the appropriate tags to this vehicle inventory, the service contract of the appropriate type will be created for this vehicle automatically.
For example, when you add a new vehicle with the ‘Oil5000’ tag…
…the service contract with the ‘Oil Change 5000’ type will be created for this vehicle automatically.
When you add a new vehicle with the ‘Oil7000’ tag…
…the service contract with the ‘Oil Change 7000’ type will be created for this vehicle automatically.
