You can define which fields are visible on the service request ‘Vehicle Info’ screen, which of them are required, and in which order they are shown.

  • On the Service Request Types page, in the Vehicle Info column, click the Settings link next to the appropriate service request type.

To show and hide vehicle information fields

  • On the Vehicle Info Settings page, select or clear the checkbox in the Visible column next to the appropriate property, and then click the Update button.

Note Visible fields are shown in the ‘Fields order on mobile device’ box

In the mobile app, only fields set as ‘visible’ will be shown on the ‘Vehicle’ screen.

To change the order of visible vehicle information fields

  • In the ‘Fields order on mobile device’ box, drag the field to the appropriate positions to set their order, and then click the Update button.

In the mobile app, the fields on the 'Vehicle' screen will be displayed in the appropriate order.

To make the vehicle information fields required or not required

  • On the Vehicle Info Settings page, select or clear the checkbox in the Required column next to the appropriate property, and then click the Update button.

In the mobile app, if you leave a required field empty you will see the appropriate message when you save the service request.

To make the vehicle information fields read-only

  • On the Vehicle Info Settings page, select the checkbox in the Read-Only column next to the appropriate property, and then click the Update button.

In the mobile app, if vehicle information fields are set as ‘read-only’ you cannot type any information into these fields.

To enable or disable VIN validity checking

  • On the Vehicle Info Settings page, select the appropriate option for the Valid VIN Check property, and then click the Update button.

If you select the ‘No Check’ option, the VIN validity will not be checked so that users can enter any VIN.

If you select the ‘Warning’ option, the appropriate warning message will be shown if the VIN is not valid, but users can still create the service request with this VIN.

If you select the ‘Error’ option, the appropriate error message will be shown if the VIN is not valid and users cannot create the service request with this VIN.

To make the ‘Owner’ fields required

  • On the Vehicle Info Settings page, below the ‘Owner’ field, select the checkbox in the Required column next to the appropriate property, and then click the Update button.

In the mobile app, if you leave a required field empty you will see the appropriate message when creating a new retail customer.
